Mission Statement
To meet the needs of our district by ensuring and providing the public’s safety. To provide education and knowledge to our citizens and to conduct ourselves in a way that merits the public’s trust.
To accomplish the mission, the board has defined these objectives:
Objective #1: Commitment to continue providing the highest level of Fire and EMS service possible that will meet the needs and expectations of the ESD residents and taxpayers. This commitment will include annual reviews of current and future service levels against national standards and initiatives to increase service levels based on these reviews.
Objective #2: District residents will pay the lowest possible homeowner/fire insurance premiums that are based on the ISO Public Protection Class (PPC). Commitment to assist the City’s of Midlothian and Ovilla lower their PPC.
Objective #3: Commitment to insure the District taxpayers receives the best possible service for the tax dollars paid to the District. Commitment to insure the fairest and most equitable tax system that will support the Fire and EMS service level required by the District.
Objective #4: Commitment to communicate with District residents at monthly meetings and public hearings and by use of District website and newsletters.
Objective 5: Commitment to fire prevention and safety through education and communication with District residents. Commitment to support fire prevention, life safety, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector programs.
Objective 6: Commitment to emergency preparedness in case of natural or man-made disasters and events. Commitment to support a District Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
